It´s been a great week with better behaviour from all students! We have been improving presentation and expectations of work to be completed, and I am impressed with their attitudes to learning.
It has been a fun week during English classes, as the children have been learning through rap! We focused on points of view from narratives and sentences, being able to identify these and also change given examples into different points of views. We learn the rap very quickly, and discovered that this improved what we knew so greatly! We have created a video for you all to see and the children will perform this in assembly to the rest of the primary school too. Take a look here: https://youtu.be/y3gi6VJYQYQ
Handwriting and thinking for yourself imaginatively has been a big focus on lessons on Monday afternoons. We work on letter size and layout during handwriting time, and analyse a photo during the second part. This requires us to think deeply and question others in the class on their opinions. It was quite difficult at first to analyse in depth, think and discuss personal opinions, but this has improved a lot.
On Tuesday, we had Miss Raisa as a guest in the class to help with some reading, a class bonding activity and general aid. She was very impressed with the level of English the children all have, and their fantastic behaviour. As part of Science and a STEM activity, the class were split into teams and were given pieces of spaghetti and marshmallows. They had to work together as a team to build the tallest free-standing tower. Points were given for height, team work and speaking in English. It was a close call between the top two groups with only one point in between, but it was definitely a lot of fun!
Have a look at the pictures included and the video of our amazing rappers!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Love Miss Tammy ☺
