In the last week of Term 2 we spent time on finishing our Father’s Day gift of a water colour and creative writing story about the water colour. I hope you enjoyed the gift as much as the children enjoyed completing it.
In Numeracy, in both Year 5 and Year 6 we completed a Maths assessment and some algebra activities.
In Literacy we read the poem ‘When I am an Old Woman I Shall Wear Purple’ by Jenny Joseph. The children then answered questions relating to the poem and then created their own poem on a similar theme called ‘Warning’.
We finished our WW2 topic making peace doves and writing words associated with this theme on them.
In a cross curricular activity that the children really enjoyed they have constructed shadow puppets during the week. They have also started writing a story about their puppets and will then use them in a performance as part of the St Jordi’s Day celebrations.
For homework Year 6 have practice SATS papers on English.
Year 5 also have practice SATS papers on Maths and English.
Have a lovely and relaxing Easter holiday.
