Richmond celebrated World Book Day with a student book swap, followed by a fashion show/parade of all of the students who had dressed as their favorite storybook characters.
At the book swap, students brought in books they no longer wanted to be exchanged for new books to read. There were lots of fantastic books on offer for all ages.
Students were encouraged to come for the day dressed as a fictional character, and Years 5 & 6 created a fashion show of sorts, writing up clothing descriptions for fictional characters who acted out a bit of a fashion show catwalk theme. The other students then had to guess the fictional character represented. They did great!
We had everything from the big bad wolf and the associated pigs, to Harry Potter and Greg from the “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” series, and everything in between.
But here, we’ll let the photos speak for themselves. A wonderful job, kids, and enjoy those new books!
