This week year 1 have been learning how to tell the time. This has been a fantastic task as all the children have been extremely eager to acquire this skill and have worked very hard.
In English they have been creating their own adventure story. This has given the children the chance to let their imaginations run wild and also helped them to grasp a large amount of new vocabulary and also be able to utilise their new literacy skills.
Well done year 1! A very productive week.
Year 2 review
Year 2 have been extending their skills in time telling and have begun to look at the differences between analogue and digital time telling. They have all worked extremely hard and achieved a sound knowledge.
In Literacy Year 2 have been looking at creating their own adventure story. They have created their lead characters and setting for the story. They are learning how to set the scene and also use their literacy skills to describe and make their story come to life.
Year 2 have been investigating many different life cycles in science and are learning the life processes of many different animals. The children have found this most interesting and have contributed many different ideas and opinions.
Year 2 have also created some wonderful work around the topic of the Great Fire of London, as you can see!
