A most hearty welcome (and welcome back) to all of the Richmond family!
We hope you have had a fantastic holiday and we know you’re looking forward to another exciting year at Richmond. A new school year is always full of all sorts of interesting possibilities, and I am sure this will be yet another amazing year for us here at Richmond.
I would like to extend a warm welcome to you all, especially to our new families. I’m sure that you will enjoy being a part of our Richmond community.
We have had builders and decorators in school over the holidays working on different areas of the school, and the school has been fully repainted and is looking really smart. The library colours have been changed and many of the desks in the classrooms have been replaced by new ones. We have also had awnings placed at the back of the building in the Early Years playground. The upstairs Football and Basketball courts are looking great, as is our new serving area.
Please remember to inform reception if your child will be having packed lunches, as the school has ordered hot nutritious school meals for all children in the school.
Your child’s space is pre-reserved by the payment of the school material. If you have forgotten, please make sure you make the payment before Friday the 4th of September!
If you’re new to the school, have a look at the blog to see some of the activities and events that students and families were up to last year. I also recommend that you check out the blog in the coming days, as we will be posting photos, bios, and qualifications of our superlative teaching staff during the countdown to school.
I know you will all join me in welcoming these new members of staff and helping them to settle in to life at Richmond.
Parents have been asking for a wider selection of school clubs, and this year we will be making that a reality by offering at least two after school clubs each day for the whole year. Keep an eye out for sign-ups in the coming weeks.
Please make sure that all clothing and other items that your child brings to school this year are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Items can easily get lost, despite our best efforts. If this happens we will do everything we can to ensure these items are found and, of course, when things are named we stand a much better chance of finding the owner.
Finally, please remember that Bureau Vallee has a list of materials with reference numbers for you to collect.
