Richmond’s Colonias excursion was a tremendous success – the kids are still talking about it. All reports indicate that it was an enriching experience, filled with challenges, games, good food, team building, and appreciation for the natural world.
The facilitators and administration of Mas Bado, where Colonias was held, told the school that the group from Richmond was among the best-behaved, kindest, and most-engaged they’d ever had, so we have every reason to be extremely proud of both our kids and our teachers. Well done everyone!
We have some personal messages from couple of our teachers:
Miss Maddison, Year 1:
We have had a very exciting week in Year 1 because we went away on Colonias! For many of the children it was their first night away from home but everyone had a fantastic time. The monitors were energetic, helpful and kind and the children haven’t stopped singing the Lets Go and Jonny and the Bunny songs! Everyone was well behaved and polite.
Their favourite moments were visiting the Witch’s House, the zip wire and the evening disco! The children didn’t stop laughing and smiling from the moment they arrived at school with their sleeping bags until they fell fast asleep on the bus journey home.
It was a pleasure to take Year 1 away to Colonias and a superb experience to see them in another environment. I am very proud of you all!
Miss Sharon, Year 2:
Our 3 day trip was amazing! The kids enjoyed every moment in the House of Colonias, and they had a lot of fun.
This experience was great for them, they had the chance to be in contact with nature and enjoy the great outdoors.
Talking about the activities, the children learned the importance of teamwork, they reinforced principles and values and they are looking forward next year to repeat the experience.
This was a truly fantastic experience for everyone who participated so, without further ado, here are some photos.
We can’t wait for next year!!!
