Last Friday’s Assembly saw Years 5 and 6 team up for a production of “Macbeth,” Shakespeare’s lighthearted comedy about an ambitious and handsome young knight and his loving wife who kill everyone in sight.
Both year groups had been working on “Macbeth” for quite some time, and for many it was their first introduction to Shakespeare’s work. Shakespeare is always a challenge for students, but it’s rich subject matter to mine.
Perhaps next they’ll work on the touching story of two young lovers in Verona who, with the support of their families, marry and open a successful internet dating service.
Anyway, the performance was a huge success and the kids did a wonderful job with the topic!
