Richmond Visit to the Archaeological Site of Olerdola

On this visit the children discovered the medieval city of Olerdola, where Mir Geribert, the great feudal lord, separated Christians from Muslims during the 11th century and proclaimed himself Prince, leading a battle against the Count of Barcelona.

While walking among the archaeological remains (which include ancient Iberian and Roman ruins) the children enjoyed the panoramic Olèrdola Natural Park and visited the three main areas that comprise the fortified enclosure: the castle at the top, the church and the cemetery, recently excavated and restored.

The children had a lot of fun during this visit to the Museum, spent time in the park around the museum and had lunch in a nice outdoor setting, enjoying the beautiful landscape.
