Mozart and More in Richmond’s Music Program

Wolfgang-amadeus-mozart_1Mr. Joan has given students in Years 3 – 8 a music folder and a CD to work on and listen to at home. Students have been studying the music of Mozart, and this week students should listen to the first ten musical pieces on the CD, all by Mozart.

You can have your kids watch this clip, which gives a wonderful visual introduction to Mozart’s world, including the clothing, traditions, and Salieri’s incredible description of Mozart’s music. It’s taken from Milos Forman’s award-winning film about the composer, which is definitely worth showing to the older children. If you can’t find the entire film online, ask Damien’s dad, Matt, if you can borrow it. I’m sure he’d be happy to lend the DVD to anyone.

Happy listening!
