English: The children have been finding out how to write instructions. Think about what ingredients are needed and how you would use them to turn Mr André into a toad (and back again!).
Maths: The children have been learning about place value and comparing numbers using the ‘crocodile’ to show which number is bigger. They have a sheet to practise what we have done in class.
Spellings: Each week the children will have some words to learn for a test. The test will be on a Friday. They need to try to use the ‘Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check’ method. First Look at the word and Say it aloud. Cover the word and then Write it. Finally Check to make sure it is correct. Try to do this each evening.
English: Spelling – Learn spelling words on p.7 and do exercises p.8 on the provided paper. Test on Wednesday.
Punctuation – Do the exercises on Capital letters and full stops on p. 4.
Maths: Complete maths on Multiplication p. 12.
English: I have given the children a copy of the story ´How the Rhinoceros Got His Skin.´ They need to use this to develop a concept map of the story. They have with them an example of a concept map they completed earlier in the week. The children also have their spelling list books and school reading books.
Numeracy: The children have been learning about multiplying and dividing by 10 and 100. I have given them a jigsaw puzzle to complete on this concept. They will need to re-arrange the pieces and glue onto a piece of card.
History: Why would the Vikings want to come to England? I have given the children a sheet with reasons and they need to separate true and false ones into two lists.
