This Week´s Homework for Years 3-8

homework5Hey all! Here’s what the kids need to work on at home this week.

Mr. Andre, Year 3

Year 3 have had a very busy first week!  We have introduced ourselves, shared stories, learned about place value and drawn pictures!

  • English

I have given the children a sheet on which they need to draw a self-portrait and write five interesting things about themselves.

  • Maths

The children have a sheet to practise the work we have done on place value this week.

Year 4

  • English

Spelling: Learn spelling words on p.6 and do exercises p.7 on the provided paper. Test on Wednesday.

Punctuation: Do the exercises on Capital letters and full stops on p. 2.

  • Maths

Complete maths on Place Value and Ordering p. 3.

  • Notices for Parents

This homework is for Friday 26th of September. Please remember to read and sign the diaries.

Mr. Alzuria, Year 5 

  • Literacy

I have given the children a sheet on speech marks to complete for homework this week. We practiced these during the week in relation to the Jungle Book stories which we were reading.

  •  Numeracy

The children have been learning about place value.  I have given them a sheet to practice what we have done in class.

  •  History / Art and Design

As part of the Vikings topic we are learning about in class, the children will be making a Viking longboat.  They need to bring 2 pieces of cardboard measuring 46cm by 18cm to school by Tuesday.  They will also need a small piece of material for the sail .  The homework sheet they need to complete is also about longboats.

Years 6,7,8 weekly homework

Learn spellings

Read the texts we are studying in class

Read a book for 30 minutes every night

Years 7 and 8

Review the history and geography units we are covering in class
